Fragmentation grenades are part of the mandatory equipment for infantry at the beginning of the game. Although they become obsolete very quickly, they are very useful for dealing with a horde of enemies.
Attention, conscripts can't use any grenade.
Usage:
Although weak, fragmentation grenades are very useful to stun units in a squad for a few seconds and inflict enough damage to win an engagement. It is advisable to use fragmentation grenades on Imperial Guard riders before each engagement. By doing so, the grenade will throw the enemies to the ground, giving the horsemen time to finish off the squad.
Fragmentation grenades are only useful against T1 units and some T2 units.
